Remembering Luke Godfrey

At HomeCareDirect, we often speak about the lasting connections formed through care relationships built on trust, kindness, and shared moments. 
One person who truly embodied that spirit was Luke Godfrey, a much-loved client whose warmth and laughter touched everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Luke sadly passed away in August this year, leaving behind many fond memories and friendships across the HomeCareDirect community. 
His family, friends, and his HomeCare Direct PA’s gathered to celebrate his birthday in September under Luke’s favourite tree in Preston Park, a place filled with memories of laughter, love, and time spent together.

Red balloons were released into the sky in his honour, a simple yet beautiful way to mark the day. 
As they drifted upward, Luke’s favourite songs played on “the red radio,” a small but powerful reminder of the joy he brought to those around him.

The walk that followed, along Luke’s favourite path through the park, was filled with stories, smiles, and music, capturing the very essence of who he was.

Luke will always hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew him, both within his family and among his friends at HomeCareDirect. 
His kindness, humour, and love for life continue to inspire us all.

Our thoughts and love remain with Jane, Tommy, and all of Luke’s HCD family.

It’s a beautiful reminder of how one person’s spirit can bring so many people together.
