Roger and Gulzeb meet the Mayor

We are proud to have the Mayor "Fully supportive" of our personalisation approach

The recent meeting between RogerAdams, our Managing Director, GulzebWasti, our Community Liaison Officer, and the Mayor of Rotherham was a heartening reminder of why HomeCareDirect exists.

When our leaders sat down with a local official who truly understands the needs of her constituents, the conversation naturally gravitated toward what matters most: empowering people to live with dignity and choice in their own homes.

For more than 15 years, HomeCareDirect has been pioneering a nurse-led model of home care that puts individuals in control.

We believe that families and service users should decide who supports them and how, rather than having care packages dictated by distant agencies.

We handle the complexities of recruitment, payroll, tax and regulatory compliance so that our clients can focus on living their lives.

This approach is particularly well-suited to tight-knit communities where trust, cultural understanding and personal relationships are paramount

During the meeting, the Mayor spoke warmly about the impact HomeCareDirect will have in Rotherham.
She highlighted the importance of our partnership with Nayi Zindagi, a local charity dedicated to supporting the Asian community, in order to nurture trust in the community.

Together, we’re helping families navigate personal health budgets and direct payments, ensuring that those funds translate into meaningful, culturally appropriate support.

By working alongside community organisations, we can reach people who might otherwise be excluded from traditional care services, whether because of language barriers, cultural nuances or simply a lack of awareness about available options.

In Rotherham and nearby areas like Sheffield, families often want to keep their loved ones close, surrounded by family.
HomeCareDirect’s model aligns perfectly with that desire.

We assist clients in recruiting personal assistants from within their own communities, which not only ensures cultural compatibility but also provides meaningful employment opportunities for local people.
In this way, our work supports both those receiving care and those providing it.

For HomeCareDirect, the Mayor being “Fully supportive” is more than a ceremonial gesture; it’s a reaffirmation that local leadership recognises and values the role of personalised, community-driven care.

As we continue to expand our presence in Rotherham, Sheffield and beyond, we remain committed to forging partnerships with local charities, faith groups and support networks.

Our goal is to make sure that anyone who could benefit from a personal health budget or direct payment knows how to access it and has the support to use it effectively.

We extend our gratitude to the Mayor of Rotherham for her encouragement and to Nayi Zindagi for their ongoing collaboration.
Together, we will continue building a future where everyone, regardless of background, can live independently and with dignity in the heart of their community.
