At HomeCareDirect, we’re always inspired by the journeys our clients take, and Racheal’s story is one of true adventure.
At just 19, Racheal is determined to experience the world in her own way.
Blind, a wheelchair user, and living with learning disabilities, she refuses to let anything hold her back from exploring new places and creating unforgettable memories.
Her “Wheely Amazing Gap Year” began with a simple idea: that she should enjoy the same exciting opportunities as any other young person her age.
With her best friend Summer, whom she first met at Guides eight years ago, and her mum by her side for support, Racheal is setting out on an adventure filled with travel, laughter, and discovery.
Together, the trio are sharing their journeys, preparations, and lessons learned along the way in their blog.
More than just a travel diary, it’s an invitation to others to see that with the right support, independence and adventure really are possible.
More updates to follow as this adventure unfolds...
