Lola Ipinola
Nurse Manager – Genesis
Registered Mental Health Nurse · 12+ years across forensic, acute and community mental health · clinical leadership for Genesis.
I'm a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with over a decade of experience in health and social care. I've worked across a wide range of inpatient and community mental health settings, supporting individuals who have complex and diverse needs. My background spans acute and forensic mental health services, supporting both men and women living with severe and enduring mental illness, including people who have experienced significant trauma.
I began my career in care in 2012 as a support worker, supporting people with learning disabilities and dementia, before going on to train as a nurse and work within adult acute mental health inpatient services. Over the years I've built extensive experience supporting individuals with complex learning disability and mental health diagnoses within community settings — always with a strong focus on helping people live meaningful, fulfilling lives and make valued contributions within their communities.
Everyone deserves fair opportunities to participate fully in community life and equitable access to the right support.
As Nurse Manager for Genesis, I provide clinical leadership and operational support across services, including within Wales. I'm deeply passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care and making sure every service remains safe, effective and accessible for the people who need it.
I love travelling, music and singing, and heading out for a hike when the weather's on my side.
I'm a committed advocate for people with learning disabilities and mental health needs, and I work to ensure they have fair opportunities to participate fully in community life and equitable access to the right support. I believe strongly in collaboration — working alongside services and professionals to improve accessibility and build more inclusive, compassionate systems of care.
